Our foundation is built on an eczema origin story.

In 2011, when our founder’s first baby boy developed eczema, generic products with harsh chemicals simply didn’t work. Unwilling to compromise her child’s health, PhD Biochemist Dr. K. Neelima set up a small lab in her garage in Bellevue, Washington, to formulate a gentle, toxin-free cure herself.

Originally called “Nature’s Mantra,” the products quickly became a hit among friends dealing with similar skin issues in their children. What started as a mother’s quest to heal her son naturally grew into NMantra Bellevue.

“I wasn’t trying to build a brand. I was trying to heal my son and refusing to put anything on his skin I couldn’t fully explain as a scientist.”

Many skincare brands rely on “ingredient-based marketing” highlighting a natural ingredient while using very little of it. We use very high percentages of active, natural ingredients to ensure our products are deeply nourishing and highly effective.

A natural ingredient appears prominently on the label and in advertising but makes up only a trace percentage of the actual formula. The “active” ingredient is mostly decorative.

We formulate with high concentrations of the active naturals we talk about, so the ingredient on the label is the ingredient doing the work in the formula.
